About the Trip

With plenty going on in life sometimes you just need to get away. Well, for the last five years I haven't gotten away - and now I've finally snapped. In July 2011 I decided that enough was enough, so I've taken all my remaining annual leave for the year all in one go and cleared out the savings account.

All this with the ambition to plan and embark on a spectacular 2,500 mile trip around Europe riding a 1300cc Honda VTX - with the whole thing arranged in just five weeks.
Aside from the ludicrous schedule and the undertaking itself, this trip is also raising money for charity, you can read all about that here. Any direct donations to WhiteKnights EVS can be made here and will be ever so gratefully received.

So, the plan. Get organised, sort a route, locate / purchase gear and book a Ferry from Newcastle, the starting point for my 15 day cruise that will take me through Holland, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg and Belgium before my return back to Holland, and back to the UK*.

The purpose of this blog is to track that adventure as it unfolds; hopefully with some pictures and video to go with the stories!

*this last part might not happen.
